Crepe Myrtle

$25.00

Also known as Pyinma or Asian Satinwood, Crepe Myrtle is best know as a showy landscaping tree and not widely considered for the sawmill, however, these can become quite large if left to grow for several decades.
Crepe Myrtle boasts a considerably moderate to hard Janka rating of 1,090 and is generally easy to work, producing good results, though inevitably challenging to plane and machine without tear-out that is typical of curly wood. Turns, glues and finishes well. Polishes to a high luster.
